Knoxville markets

Knoxville's market scene runs on three pillars: Nourish Knoxville's farmers markets (downtown and northeast, year-round in different shapes), the Old City Market on Jackson Avenue once a month, and the Maker City programming of pop-up craft and maker markets across the city. Here are the standing ones.

The spots, by neighborhood

Market Square Farmers Market
Nourish Knoxville's flagship market in the heart of downtown: Wednesdays 10am to 1pm and Saturdays 9am to 1pm in season (May through October), with around 140 growers and makers at peak.
Downtown · May to Oct
Winter Farmers Market on Market Square
Same square, smaller footprint: Saturdays only, November through March, indoor when needed. Run by Nourish Knoxville.
Downtown · Nov to Mar
New Harvest Farmers Market
Nourish Knoxville's northeast Knoxville market, with a different rotation of growers; useful when downtown parking is a problem. 4775 New Harvest Ln.
Northeast Knox
Old City Market
A curated outdoor market that takes over Jackson Avenue on the third Sunday of each month, with artists, makers, and creative vendors in the Old City.
Old City · 3rd Sun
Maker City pop-up markets
The Maker City umbrella runs and partners on craft markets throughout the year, including the Knoxville Spring Flea Market. Check their markets page for the current schedule.
Citywide · year-round

"The Market Square Saturday market hits roughly 140 vendors at peak; the Old City Market is a tighter, more curated thing."

Good to know

Which farmers market should I go to first?

If you have not been, the Market Square Saturday market in summer is the introduction: easy to find, around 140 vendors, walkable to coffee and brunch. The New Harvest market is the call if downtown is crowded or you want a smaller crowd.

Is there a winter farmers market?

Yes. Nourish Knoxville runs a Saturday-only winter market on Market Square from November through March. The Wednesday market and the New Harvest market do not run in winter.

What is the Old City Market?

An outdoor, curated craft market on Jackson Avenue in the Old City, on the third Sunday of every month. It is run by the Old City Knoxville organization, not the same as the Nourish Knoxville farmers markets.
